What you should know about how your home owners insurance companies operate.
Insurance companies do routine/anual inspections.
If they notice any issues with your property, in particular for the purpose of this post, any roofing issues, they will send you a letter demanding you make repairs by a certain date or a notice of cancellation will follow.
These repairs are most likely part of your coverage but they won’t tell you that. Once you receive that letter you’re likely to make those repairs out of pocket regardless of coverage.
